Overview of Thin Film Scraper Evaporator
Thin film scraper evaporator is an efficient evaporation equipment that uses mechanical scraper to forcibly form liquid film, enhance heat transfer and evaporation process. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, environmental protection and other fields, especially suitable for processing materials with high viscosity, heat sensitivity, easy crystallization or scaling (such as resin, oil, juice, antibiotic concentrate, etc.).

Working principle
The core of a thin film scraper evaporator is to forcefully spread the material into a uniform thin liquid film on the heating wall surface through a rotating scraper, and use the heat provided by the heating medium (such as steam, thermal oil) to rapidly vaporize the solvent in the liquid film, ultimately achieving material concentration and solvent separation. The specific process is as follows:
Material feeding: The material to be processed enters the equipment from the top or middle of the evaporator and flows downwards by gravity or scraper pushing.
Liquid film formation: The rotating scraper inside the evaporator (driven by a motor, usually at a speed of 300-3000r/min) uniformly applies the material onto the inner wall of the heating tube (or heating cylinder) under centrifugal and shear forces, forming a turbulent liquid film with a thickness of about 0.5-3mm (to avoid the decrease in heat transfer efficiency caused by laminar flow).
Heating and evaporation: The heating medium flows outside the heating wall and transfers heat to the inner liquid film through thermal conduction. The solvents (such as water and organic solvents) in the liquid film quickly absorb heat and vaporize, forming secondary steam.
Gas liquid separation: The secondary steam flows upward and is separated by a separator (built-in demister) at the top of the equipment to remove a small amount of liquid droplets, and then enters the condenser for condensation and recovery; The concentrated material (finished liquid) continues to move downwards along the wall under the push of the scraper, and is finally discharged from the bottom outlet.

Main features 
The characteristics of the thin film scraper evaporator are closely related to its core mechanism of "mechanical forced film formation", mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Efficient heat transfer: The thin liquid film (0.5-3mm) and turbulent state significantly reduce thermal resistance, and the heat transfer coefficient can reach 1000-3000 W/(m ² · K), which is much higher than traditional immersion evaporators (usually<500 W/(m ² · K)).
Short residence time: The material stays on the heating wall for only a few seconds to tens of seconds, effectively avoiding the decomposition or deterioration of heat sensitive materials (such as vitamins, enzymes, antibiotics) due to prolonged heating.
High viscosity adaptability: Through the forced shearing and pushing of the scraper, materials with a viscosity of up to 1 million centipoise (cP) can be processed (traditional falling film evaporators are only suitable for low viscosity materials<1000 cP).
Anti scaling/anti crystallization: The scraper continuously scrapes and heats the wall surface, which can disrupt the crystallization or scaling trend of the material and avoid the decrease in heat transfer efficiency caused by wall scaling. It is suitable for handling materials that are prone to crystallization (such as salt solutions) and scaling (such as high solid content slurries).
High operational flexibility: When fluctuating within the range of 30% -100% of the designed processing capacity, it can still maintain stable liquid film formation and heat transfer efficiency, adapting to intermittent or continuous operation requirements.
