Introduction to Multi effect Evaporation System
A multi effect evaporation system is a series evaporation device that uses the secondary steam from the previous effect as the heating steam for the next effect. In evaporation production, the output of secondary vapor is relatively large and contains a large amount of latent heat, so it should be recovered and utilized. If the secondary vapor is passed into the heating chamber of another evaporator, as long as the operating pressure and boiling point of the latter are lower than those in the original evaporator, the introduced secondary vapor can still provide heating. This operation method is called multi effect evaporation. Each evaporator in multi effect evaporation is called a single effect. Any evaporator that introduces heating steam is called a first effect, an evaporator that uses secondary steam from the first effect as a heating agent is called a second effect, and so on.
Working principle
The three effect evaporation system is an evaporation system that operates several single effect evaporators in series, allowing the steam heat energy to be utilized multiple times, thereby improving the utilization rate of heat energy. It is commonly used for the treatment of aqueous solutions. In the process of triple effect evaporation operation (as shown in the figure), the first evaporator (referred to as the first effect) uses steam as heating steam, while the other two (referred to as the second and third effects) use the secondary steam from the previous effect as heating steam, thereby significantly reducing the amount of steam used.
Characteristics of Multi effect Evaporation System
Efficient defoaming: the system is equipped with efficient defoaming device to avoid material foam entrainment leading to material loss. Automatic control: Adopting a liquid level automatic control system, automatic feeding, and automatic discharge of condensate water.
Long service life of integral tube plate: The heater, preheater, and condenser tube plates use integral tube plates to extend the service life of the equipment.
Energy saving and consumption reduction: The discharge adopts a separation device to increase the crystal content of the discharge, obtain most of the crystals after separation, minimize the reflux of the mother liquor, and consume less heat energy again, which is particularly energy-saving.
Application fields of multi effect evaporation system
Single effect, double effect, triple effect, and multi effect forced circulation evaporators are suitable for evaporation and concentration in industries such as chemical, food, pharmaceutical, environmental engineering, and waste liquid evaporation and recovery, which have scaling, crystallinity, heat sensitivity (low temperature), high concentration, high viscosity, and contain insoluble solids. Widely used for evaporation and concentration of water or organic solvent solutions in industries such as medicine, food, chemical, and light industry, and can also be widely used for waste liquid treatment in these industries. Especially suitable for heat sensitive materials, the evaporator operates continuously under vacuum and low temperature conditions, with high evaporation capacity, energy saving and consumption reduction, low operating costs, and the ability to ensure the invariance of materials during the evaporation process.
